What is Drambuie? - Story - Description - Taste Test - Inebrious
Just ordered my first (and last) Clint at a high end restaurant in Boca Raton. While I love the backstory of the drink (especially as a DC native), I just didn't enjoy it. The bitters are somewhat assuaged by the orange slice, but not enough for my liking. But to each their own.
How does it taste?
You haven't d said anything relevant. Campari lovers already know what you said. I was expecting a more in-depth analysis of Campari.
Why would a Campari lover want to know what Campari is?
I've never drank Campari straight! Always in a Negroni.
I love it straight!
I have a recessive gene for bitter. I don't taste bitter. To me Campari tastes like maraschino cherry.
That's really interesting!
red as blood, bitter as life
😆😂😄😄
fuck this shit. it smells like it tastes. shit.
Big hug from durango mex
Thanks!
🌹 *promosm*
Maybe?
hello, really interesting but if we need a cold drink we can add a "serpentin"( we call that a machine that freeze the beer ) ??
There are many ways of serving cold from a keg. A 'kegerator' is a fridge to hold the entire keg usually with a tap on the outside (this is how it's served in a bar). You can use a 'jockey box' which is an ice cooler with a metal coil on the inside which you place ice around and a trap on the outside so the beer (or cocktail) runs through the chilled coil. And a keg cooler bag like at the end of this video.
Great family fun!
The best!
It’s a perfect middle APV cocktail with some Club Soda and a cherry 🍒 and 🍊 slice
I'm a fan of campari straight!
I prefer the cork top, but hey maybe that's just me. 😊
Well that was a while ago!!!
@@Inebrious Really, my local 7/11 liquor department inventory of Drambuie only has bottles with cork option.
@@InVinoVeritas. Cool!! I know my bottle in the video is a bit older, but not super old. Maybe they've switched to corks. I don't know. I'll check my local store next time I'm there.
Daddy did not really drink. He was an M.D. and owned a farm of, at one time, 150 Angus cattle. He could play piano, guitar, banjo, clarinet, accordion. He was a Renaissance man, and I adored him. Every once in a while, he would sit at one end of the kitchen table he’d made and sip a small glass of Drambuie. The aroma of Drambuie is Heavenly.
The Drambuie I buy has a cork top and the name "Bonnie Prince Charlie" on the bottle.
Tastes like licking a 9volt battery. The shit is horrendous
A couple notes: 1. I mentioned they 'lowered' production, and that was a misinterpretation. They are limiting production (they capped it, no longer increasing regardless of demand). 2. I just called my local store (Bottle Stop in Avon, CT) for a backup bottle, and they called me a couple weeks later saying they were holding one for me.
I love Garibaldi. Campari and freshly squeeze orange

Its really good.
Agreed!!!
I'm a fan. :)
Outstanding information! I am a huge fan of Fernet Branca and I most commonly enjoy Fernet Branca in a Toronto cocktail. Sometimes I savour a shot of Fernet and it's lovely that way. It would be so delicious with strawberry. I very much enjoy the herbal bitter flavours. Thank you so much for this really awesome video!! Cheers!! 🙂
A Toronto cocktail sounds tasty!! Thank you for the kind words!
@@Inebrious You are so welcome! The Toronto is so delicious! Give it a try! Have a wonderful day! Cheers!! 🙂
Woah! I really like your channel. Props to you for nailing the shirt and tying in the history with the current Chartruese-panic-boom that some markets are seeing. Chartreuse is special to me. When my Dad went on hunting trips and starting in the 1990s, he would sip on Chartreuse in the snow-capped Oregon mountains. Low and behold nearly 30-years-later, now my brother and I are hooked. I'm sad that its going to be allocated, but I suppose that it will preserve the craft of it for many more years. But, I'll be buying a bunch to stock up, so my family and I can all sip on some from many more holidays to come because we always drink a bottle of green during Christmas. I actually have a bottle of green VEP, wood case and all, that I plan on opening and sipping whenever I bring my child home from the hospital.
Awesome story!! I know there are some folks who use Chartreuse regularly. Hopefully you can find an alternative if you can't get the amount you want. Being in snow capped mountains, try a shot in some hot chocolate. That's pretty popular in Switzerland.
@@Inebrious Oh yeah, verte chaud is one of my favorites. I ended up buying an entire case of Green after this was posted, along with a pair of Yellows, a pair of 1605s, three 9th Centuries, three Elixirs, and a single MOF so I can really stock up and never have to worry about finding them.
@@AyoWayo That's quite the purchase!!
I like Chartreuse!! I will definately be on the lookout for a bottle. :)
You know it!!
I use to usually do Drambuie for after a good steakhouse dinner drink straight up or on the rocks......good memories!
I might give that a shot at the next steak night!
enjoy!!

you look like a super villain 😂 but this was a great video
I think I've looked like a super villain since high school, but I dyed my white streak blue. Maybe that added to it.
I love the passion you put in offering so many details about the drink. I'm really impressed by your knowledge!
I appreciate that!
A note on the false start.... I started footage back when we lived in Missouri. Now we live in Connecticut, and this is my basement set. What do you think?
'Herbally'. Lol.
Totally a word.
Yay! Happy to see the channel back!!!
More to come!
It's really good as a warm toddy
It is!!!!
For 8 months, fascist Russia has been destroying civilians and civilian infrastructure, residential buildings and entire cities in Ukraine! Terrorists from Russia kill children, pregnant women, create a food crisis around the world, disrupt their own agreements on the supply of gas and oil!!! All this is already tired of all mstates! That is why Russia today is a pariah country. And working in fascist Russia and cooperating with it is a shame for any global company. But Campari is still working in Russia and collaborating with terrorists. In fact, Campari, paying taxes to the fascists, is financing terrorism on a global scale !! This is a huge shame and earnings on the blood of children!
Just because of this comment i will buy a Campari bottle
@@Nando_Moura Everyone chooses their own path in life. And I will not forbid you. You chose the path of supporting murderers and rapists!!! It is your choice, for a small part of your soul, to become a murderer yourself, supporting those who maim the most precious thing on this earth - children!!!! If you visited the orphanage where the children who were left without parents due to the putler war, you would think completely differently!! But you live in your information cocoon!!!! Good luck!!! And Camparische will pay with its reputation for supporting this brutal war!! After all, money does not smell - this is a wrong statement!! They smell!!!
@@Projekify For sure the Russian invasion of Ukraine is barbaric and wrong. But begging companies do leave Russia , and making people lose their jobs is imoral.
@@Nando_Moura This is how the Russians, who want death and suffering not only for Ukrainians, but also for the whole of Europe, will lose their jobs!!!! They are hostile to all of us, how can you not understand it!!!! And you worry about the fact that these barbarians do not lose their jobs!
I just bought one, pure horse piss, rough a city sark
No accounting for taste. ;)
love the bottle
campari with rum cream is call pink pussy in Jamaica and it can mix with the magnum tonic wine but be careful it's a kicker
Haters. I love Campari. 10/10 video.
👍🏻👍🏻
One of my favorites!
Campari plus gin/Cointreau plus lime and tonic is nice!
That does sound pretty good!
Worst drink ever. T. Late
Booo!!!
Beetle juice!
Beetlejuice, Betelgeuse!!
Campari and orange juice is okay-ish, it’s mostly disturbing, but tolerable.
lol. Why disturbing?
Cuz it’s so fucking bitter lol
Delicious. One of my favourite tipples
I'm a big fan too.
Jamaica is full of fake Campari. Citizens should stay away from these fake liquor
Are there any good ones?
@@Inebrious yes, the ones that manufactured at the original company.
I have oldest bottle of drambuie. It is older than 67 years and i want to sale it.
That's awesome!!! Find yourself a broker or auction. If you are in the US, you can't sell it yourself.
